How "TriMyBest Triathlon Coaching" Works:

I start with a detailed analysis of your goals, proposed racing schedule, strengths and
weaknesses, your athletic background, the amount of time you generally have available for
training, and a general understanding of your other life commitments (family, work, etc.).  I
get most of this information through my questionnaire, which you can download
here.

Using the information I gathered about you, I then create a "macrocycle" (or "big picture")
plan that provides me with the framework and the general focus of each week throughout
your season so I can make sure your weekly plans are all working towards your goals.

Each weekend, I'll email you a training plan (click here for a
sample) that will include all the
details of every workout you'll need to do during the upcoming week.  I recommend printing
out the plan and keeping it handy so you can check off each workout as you complete it.  In
addition to the workout calendar, the plans also include two goals and a second page with
the swim workouts in large print so you can cut them out and take them to the poolside with
you for easy reference.

Towards the end of each week, you'll fill out my
feedback form.  It usually only takes a few
minutes to complete, yet the form provides me with all the necessary details to design your
plan for the following week.  If you'd like to talk on the phone, just check the box on the
form and I'll call you.  You can also call or email me anytime, of course.

To create your next plan, I refer to several sources of information:

1.  Your macrocycle plan tells me what the focus of your workouts will be.

2.  The feedback form tells me how you handled the workouts from the past week and lets
me know if I need to adjust your workouts to make them more challenging or easier.

3.  The feedback form also includes information about your upcoming week, so I can work
around any obstacles in your work or family schedule.

4.  The weather forecast will help me make sure your plan is realistic (i.e.: your long ride
isn't scheduled on a day with 100% chance of thunderstorms).

Also, Available Locally:
One-on-One Sessions:  My one-on-one sessions are generally one-hour
meetings where I'll teach you whatever you want to know about any triathlon-related topic
to help you become a better triathlete.  You can determine the topic, and it can range from
a videotaped form analysis and some suggestions for technique improvements in running,
biking, swimming, or transitions to having me help you set some racing goals and map out
a general training plan for your season.  The choice is yours!

You can contact me through my contact form, by phone (203-300-2919) or through
email (
Paul@TriMyBest.com) to set up an appointment for a one-on-one session.
